Internet Marketing Unleashed!
By: John Elder posted in Internet Marketing
Hello good people!
Well it’s another 20 below zero wind chill day here in downtown Chicago! We’re all getting pretty tired of it, but what can you do!
Today I’m writing this article on my new Chromebook down in my apartment building’s conference room (pictured below), just for a change of scenery. If you do a lot of writing like I do, then I highly recommend one of these $250 Samsung Chromebooks.
They don’t do much else, but if you write a lot from all over the place and get tired of lugging a heavy laptop around with you – this is the machine for you. As an Internet marketer, I work from all over the place; my apartment, one of dozens of coffee shops around the city, my buildings conference room – basically wherever I want. You hardly notice this little laptop when you carry it around. It’s great!
Internet Marketing Breakdown
Today I want to start a series of articles about Internet Marketing. I felt like it was time for us to get back to the basics and really dig into the many aspects of Internet Marketing.
At first these articles will be geared towards the absolute beginner; someone who has no idea what Internet Marketing is or how to get started. Then, as time goes on – we’ll get into more advanced topics.
From time to time, I may refer you to one of my online video courses over at Elder Academy if you’d like to delve deaper into a specific topic, but for the most part you’ll find everything you need right here.
What Is Internet Marketing?
First things first…what exactly IS Internet Marketing?
Basically it’s just the practice of marketing on the Internet. Over the last decade or so, we’ve developed a number of standard practices and techniques to do that, and that’s what I’ll be discussing in these articles.
I’m talking about things like:
- Email Marketing (newsletter marketing, autoresponder marketing, followup marketing, etc)
- Social Media Marketing (facebook, twitter, youtube, etc)
- Direct Marketing (long copy website sales letters, etc)
- SEO (Google and Yahoo/BING SEO, blackhat, whitehat, gray hat, etc)
- Pay Per Click Advertising
- Tracking and Conversion
- Traffic Generation
- and on and on…
We’ll be looking at each of those things, and many more in the next few months, and I hope you’ll ask questions as we go along by leaving comments below each article.
We’ll get started next time with a broad road map that all Internet Marketers should follow when starting a new project, then we’ll dive into each section of that road map.
It should be a lot of fun, so stick around!!
