Fancy Graphics For Adsense Sites?
By: John Elder posted in Adsense
Hello good people!
Well the weather is finally starting to turn around here in Chicago. It’s still cold as hell but at least it stopped raining and the sun came out! Looking forward to my brother and his wife coming into the city for a visit this weekend. Should be a lot of fun.
Today I want to talk about something that many people tend to fixate on….graphics. There are basically two schools of thought when it comes to designing your Adsense websites;
- Use header graphics
- Don’t use header graphics
Ok…nothing too complicated there. But what’s the best way to do it? Should you spend time designing nice looking header graphics for your adsense sites?
Yes and no.
Our goal is obviously to make as much money as possible. Does adding custom graphics to your website help that? Or does it hurt? That’s a good question and I encourage you to test for yourself to see.
Testing something like this is pretty easy, you just need to create a group of sites with custom graphics, and then a group of sites without, and see which group earns more money.
But it’s not that simple.
We work in a churn and burn sort of industry. You want to churn out sites as quickly as you can, in as large a quantity as you can. Believe me, 1,000 crappy sites with no header graphics will out perform 100 sites with lavishly designed graphics every time.
And that’s the rub…designing graphics takes time, and/or costs money (if you have no particular design skills and have to hire someone to do it).
Sure, there are graphic programs out there that make designing header graphics really easy…but they still take time. I make as much money as I do because I’ve automated as much of the site creation process as possible, allowing me to churn out hundreds of sites a day at very little cost.
But here’s a tip…
Instead of creating custom graphics for every site you have (something that’s simply impossible to do if you plan on creating thousands of sites), I suggest you create one really nice looking header graphic that’s completely generic.
Then use that header graphic on every site you own. The trick is to make it generic enough that it will look good on any website.
Why bother?
Because there is a value to Making your Adsense Sites More Respectable looking. It can go a long way to keep your site from getting banned by a Google web spam reviewer, and it can also add to your site visitors “user experience”.
If your site has a nice header graphic, even a generic one, then a site visitor may be more likely to click on your adsense ads instead of deciding that your site is crap and hitting the “back” button to return to the Google search results page they just came from. But, as with all things, test this yourself!
Keep on Building!
